THE PRACTICE
Earth Intelligence
An image is a measurement with strengths and limits. We choose observations to fit the decision, compare them across time, and make uncertainty visible.
Irrigated and rainfed field mapping
Seasonal irrigation cannot be inferred from greenness alone. The team combines optical and radar observations with rainfall, terrain and water context to distinguish irrigated and rainfed patterns.
- Seasonal mapping at field-relevant scale
- Optical and radar time series
- Validation against independent field evidence
Flood Intelligence
Radar observations can help identify inundation under cloud cover. Rainfall history, past flood footprints and landscape conditions add context for susceptibility and exposure. A modelled risk layer is not a live flood warning.
- Event and seasonal evidence
- Flood susceptibility and exposure views
- Uncertainty-aware interpretation
Monitoring change through time
A single satellite date may miss a process. Repeated observations help distinguish seasonal cycles from persistent change in vegetation, water and built surfaces.
- Multi-date comparison
- Spatial patterns and context
- Field verification where needed
HOW WE APPROACH IT
The method follows the question.
Sensor selection, timing, scale and field validation depend on the process being studied. We keep the source and limitations of each observation visible.
